• Forums

Sure, as a non-member you can lurk and read postings - but you can't post on your own.  Forums are a better method of asking questions and getting answers over a mailing list for the following reasons:

• When you post, you can chose to get an email update or not.  This way, you control what comes to your inbox.
• See a posting that you'd like to follow?  Don't miss a beat and subscribe to it.  This way whenever anyone posts on the subject, you're notified right away.  Then when you're done reading that thread, turn off the subscription.
• Post by subject.  How many times have you gotten email after email about subjects you are not concerned with?  With a forum, you can read posts by subject, and leave others unread.

• Special Events

There are a lot of things going on in the world - and some of them could be educational or interesting to you.  This section has exclusive announcments for LineProducing.com events, notices about events which I feel can benefit Line Producers and UPMs everywhere - as well as a slew of links to sources for other events everywhere.

• Calendars

This one's pretty simple.  It's a calendar.  On it is listed recurring Line Producer and/or UPM oriented meetings (PGA & DGA) as well as holiday notes for your reference.

• Other Groups

It's true.  LineProducing.com is not the only community of like-minded film makers on the web.  Here, I list ones I use often.
